Apple Releases $899 Education iMac
Apple has released an Education only version of the popular iMac computer and has removed the eMac. The new iMac for is immediately available for education customers through the Apple Store for Education. As with all newly released Macintosh computers, the new education iMac also comes with a built-in iSight video camera and iLife '06.
The specs of the 17-inch 1.83 GHz Education iMac are as follows:
- 17-inch widescreen LCD display
- 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo processor
- 512MB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (expandable to 2GB)
- 24x Combo drive
- Intel GMA 950 graphics
- Built-in iSight video camera
- Built-in AirPort Extreme wireless networking
- 80GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA hard drive
- mini-DVI out
- Built-in stereo speakers and microphone
- Mighty Mouse
- Apple Keyboard
