Apple release Mac OS X 10.5.5 update
On Monday September 15, 2008 Apple released Mac OS X 10.5.5, the fifth maintenance update to the Mac OS X Leopard operating system. The update is recommended for all users of Mac OS X 10.5.x.
The update includes general operating system improvements that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of Macs running Leopard. The update can be obtained via Mac OS X Software Update or downloaded directly from Apple.
The update has been described as covering the key areas and features:
